Why Choose DigiSavIt over mail-in or chain store services?

If you are local to Tampa, you meet the people who will perform your transfers and if you mail your photos, video or film to us, you will talk to us directly. You have no idea who will perform your transfer when you use a mail-in service or chain store.

DigiSavIt transfers tapes one at a time using professional transfer equipment and inspects the footage to ensure the video and audio is the best possible quality. If a tape does not play well in one deck, we'll try other decks to ensure we are getting the best video quality possible. Mail-in services, drugs stores and major retailers use equipment banks in their factories to process hundreds of videos at once.

When producing to DVD, DigiSavIt removes TV shows that may have been recorded at the end of your tape. The other companies transfer these unwanted segments to your new DVD.

DigiSavIt specializes in 8mm, Super8mm and 16mm film transfers. All film is cleaned, lubricated and splices are repaired. Frame-by-frame capture is achieved using state of the art telecine equipment. We monitor the entire capture of your film and do not splice your smaller reels onto larger reels; companies that do this do it for their convenience so that they can leave the transfer process unattended.

We manually scan using Epson and Kodak professional flatbed scanners designed specifically for photo and slide scanning. We also use microfiber cloths to remove dust from each slide/negative/photo. While this may take longer to process, it is the best way to obtain the highest quality scans. Many companies use document scanners that have a photo setting and auto feed photos at high speed; the result is a lower quality digital image.

Your project is special to you and important to us. We listen to what you want and work with you to create a unique product. We provide free estimates that detail what you have and how much it will cost to transfer. Our primary goal is to exceed expectations. Others produce “cookie-cutter” results, treating all customer projects the same.

We personalize your project so that it is all about you. The others generate stock packaging that advertise their brand and services.

DigiSavIt uses “hard coat scratch resistent” DVD’s from JVC Taiyo Yuden, the inventor of the DVD-R. These professional grade discs protect from wear and scratches. Others use economy brands that don’t offer the same protection.

When you bring your priceless memorabilia to DigiSavIt, you save the time and cost of shipping to a mail-in service. You know where everything is all of the time. The chain stores do not process your transfers in-house; they package and mail your tapes, film, photos & slides to a processing center, some of which are not in the United States.
